Ekashi Ikiri - Ekashi Ikiri

In other words, men belong to the lineage of their fathers, and women to the lineage of their mothers. All the lineages of men who share the same paternal lineage are called ekasi-ikiri, and share a common ancestral seal (itokupa). In this case, daughters born to fathers who share the same ancestral seal are excluded from ekasi-ikiri.
