...Izumo's representative products were cotton and iron, but the Unyo Daisuroku, written in the Horeki era, also records Utsupurui seaweed, Mano pears, Ooba pears, Tonoshima yellowtail, Matsue sea bass, Matsue watercress, Watahashi Kagi tea, Hinomisaki wakame seaweed, Jinzaiko carp, Yoshida kotake mushrooms, Hirata turnips, Yakawa grass fern, Kumano tea, Shinjiko eel, Nakaumi sea urchin, Okamoto burdock, Komoda parsley, Noshira paper, Issei clams, Katami seaweed, Seki small sea bream, Oi parsley, and Yao tobacco. As geographical works from the Edo period, there is Kaitatsudan (first part 1653, second part 1661) by the feudal lord Confucian scholar Kurosawa Sekisai, and Unyo-shi (Unyo-shi) by Kurosawa Nagaaki and Saito Hosen, which was ordered by the feudal lord in 1717 (Kyoho 2). This book contains detailed descriptions of 545 towns and villages in 10 counties in Izumo Province.

…出雲を代表する物産は木綿と鉄であったが，宝暦年間の《雲陽大数録》には，十六島（うつぷるい）海苔，真野梨，大庭（おおば）梨，艫島鰤（ぶり），松江鱸魚（すずき），松江蓴菜（じゆんさい），渡橋加儀茶，日御碕ワカメ，神西湖鯉鮒，吉田香茸，平田蕪（かぶ），八川草蕨，熊野茶，宍道湖鰻（うなぎ），中海雲丹（うに），岡本牛蒡（ごぼう），薦田芹（せり），野白（のしら）紙，一成蛤（はまぐり），片海海苔，関小鯛，大井芹，矢尾煙草などを記している。江戸期の地誌としては，藩儒の黒沢石斎による《懐橘談》(前編1653，後編1661)と，1717年(享保2)に藩主が命じて作らせた黒沢長顕と斎藤豊仙による《雲陽誌》がある。同書には出雲国10郡545ヵ町村の詳細が記してある。…
