He met with the shogun Tokugawa Ietsuna and appointed him Mikawa no Kami Tsunakuni. Ichimasa's younger brother Nagami Okura and the retainer Ogita Sukuma used this to spread the word that Mimasaka had tried to make his own son Kamon Dairoku Mitsunaga's heir, but with no prospects, had set up the young Mantokumaru and was trying to usurp his power and usurp his master's house.
