Japanese: 浦上村宗 - うらがみ・むらむね
Urakami Mune - Urakami Mune
Year of death: 4th June 1531 (17th July 1531)
Year of birth: Unknown. Warlord of the Warring States period; deputy governor of Harima Province (Hyogo Prefecture). Adopted son of Norikage (son of Norimune). In July 1521, Hosokawa Takakuni, the shogunal deputy of the Muromachi shogunate, asked him to support Yoshiharu, the son of the late Ashikaga Yoshizumi, who was under the tutelage of Akamatsu Yoshimura, governor of Harima. He deceived Yoshimura, escorted Yoshiharu, and went to Kyoto to see Takakuni. In August of the same year, he imprisoned Yoshimura in Murotsu, Harima Province, and forced him to commit suicide. In September of the following year, Urakami Murakuni entered Harima accompanied by Yoshimura's son Masamura, and there was a battle with him. However, in November of the same year, Yamana Nobutoyo, governor of Tajima, took advantage of this internal conflict and entered Harima, and he made peace with Murakuni and defeated Nobutoyo. In June 1530, in the third year of the Kyoroku era (1530), Yanagimoto Kenji, who had been fighting in various parts of the Kinai region against Takakuni, was killed by Tojo in Harima Province. In July, they attacked and defeated the subordinate castles of Bessho Juji, namely Kodera, Miki, and Arita. In August, when Takabatake Jinkuro, a subordinate of Hosokawa Harumoto, was based at Itami Castle, Ikeda Hisamune at Ikeda Castle, and Yakushiji Kunimori at Tomimatsu Castle, they set up camp at Shinnoji in Settsu Province at Takakuni's request. In September, together with Takakuni, they took Tomimatsu Castle, and Kunimori moved to Omono Castle in Settsu. In the following year, the forces of Takakuni and Muramune, who were based at Nakajima in Settsu Province, fought a battle against the forces of Harumoto and Miyoshi Motonaga, but were defeated and retreated to Tennoji. They fled from Tennoji to Amagasaki, but Takakuni was captured and committed suicide, and Muramune was killed in battle.
