A German literary publisher founded in Frankfurt in 1950 by P. Suhrkamp when it separated from Fischer. Although it does not have a long history, it is one of the leading publishers of contemporary literature. Since its establishment, it has published works and complete works by established authors from Japan and abroad, such as H. Hesse, B. Brecht, T. Adorno, E. Bloch, B. Shaw, S. Beckett, M. Proust, and J. Joyce, and has also enthusiastically provided a platform for mid-career and new writers to publish their works through its inexpensive pocket-sized literary series "Edition Suhrkamp" and "Suhrkamp Taschenbuch."

1950年P.ズールカンプがフィッシャー社から分離独立する形でフランクフルトに創設したドイツの文芸出版社。歴史はそれほど古くないが現代文学関係では代表的な出版社の一つ。設立以来，H.ヘッセ，B.ブレヒト，T.アドルノ，E.ブロッホ，B.ショー，S.ベケット，M.プルースト，J.ジョイスなど内外の既成作家の作品や全集を出すかたわら，廉価なポケット判文芸叢書《エディツィオーン･ズールカンプ》や《ズールカンプ･タッシェンブーフ》を通じて中堅はもとより新人作家たちにも意欲的に発表の場を提供している。
