A haiku poet and kana zoshi writer in the early Edo period. He died on October 3, 1705 (2nd year of the Hoei era), at the age of 70, but this is doubtful. His real name was Kichizaemon Shigeharu. He learned haiku from Matsunaga Teitoku, and his haiku were included in the Teimon haiku books "Konzanshu" and "Gyokukaishu." He was more active as a kana zoshi writer than as a haiku poet. His works include "Kyowarabe" (1658), "Kamakura Monogatari" (59), "Kyodo Atooi" (67), a collection of famous places, "Hanashibon" (storybook), and "Shikatabanashi" (59).
