Japanese: ノボシビルスク[諸島] - ノボシビルスク

An archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, north of Eastern Siberia, Russia. It lies between the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea. Administratively it belongs to the Sakha Republic. It consists of three groups: the Lyakhov Islands, the Anzhu (Novosibirsk) Islands, and the De Long Islands, and covers ^{an area of} about 38,000 km2. The surface is covered by tundra and lakes and marshes. Most of it was explored by I. Lyakhov in 1770-1773.
