Umiudonge - Umiudonge

Another name for the marine bryozoan genus Polyptera, which is a member of the Cylindrical Zoo. It was so named because the way it grows on rocks resembles the eggs of the lacewing insect (commonly known as Udonge).

曲形(きょくけい)動物に属する海産のスズコケムシの別名。岩石などに着生している姿が、昆虫のクサカゲロウの卵（ウドンゲと俗称）に似ているのでこの名がある。
