[Born] Emperor Wen 1 (179 BC)? Jiangsu [Death] Gengari 1 (122 BC) Grandson of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty, King of Huainan. Compiled the "Huainanzi." He plotted unsuccessfully against Emperor Jing together with the Seven States of Wu and Chu (→ Rebellion of the Seven States of Wu and Chu), and later, during the reign of Emperor Wu, he raised many scholars and tried to raise an army again, but was discovered beforehand, captured, and committed suicide. He loved learning, and together with many guests, he wrote 21 volumes of the "Inner Book," 8 volumes of the "Central Book," and 23 volumes of the "Outer Book."
