Songs sung in groups while sitting and dancing during Ainu celebrations and festivals. They are mainly songs sung while sitting, and are characterized by a singing style called ukouku, in which people sit in a circle and lightly tap the lid of a Shintoko (a portable vessel) placed in the center to keep time, while singing successively, each melody shifting by one beat. アイヌの祝いや祭りのときなどに集団で座ったり踊ったりしてうたう歌。おもに座り歌を意味し，円座を組んだ人々が，中央に置かれた行器(ほかい)（シントコ）のふたを軽く叩いて拍子をとりながら，旋律を１拍ずつずらして歌い継ぐ，ウコウクという歌い方が特徴。リムセにくらべて，意味のある歌詞をもち，構造的にまとまった旋律が多い。
