The main island of Samoa, along with Savai'i. It is located in the central South Pacific. It is mountainous, with the highest point at 1,100m. It is the political and economic center of Samoa, and is home to the capital city of Apia. It produces copra, bananas, and cocoa. It has an area of 1,118 km2 and a population of 143,418 (2011).
