Right and Left Exit Street - Ubaguchi Kaido

...The town area consists of the lowlands on the left bank of the Fuefuki River, the Sone Hills to the south, and the Misaka Mountains. The town name comes from the fact that Nakamichi (another name for the Ubaguchi Highway, which connected Isawa and Suruga) once passed through the town. The lowlands in the north were used for rice paddies, and the hills in the south were once mulberry fields, but in recent years they have been used for orchards, mainly for peaches and grapes.
