One of the salaries paid to Ritsuryo government officials. It is said to have started in 719 (Yoro 3) when officials with the role of "geki" (dramatic) duty were selected and paid in sen. In the Nara period, officials in charge of administrative duties in specific government offices in Kyoto were paid in sen on a monthly basis according to their rank. Similar to this, rice paid to banjo officials was called banjoryo (banjo food), and this yogekiryo and banjoryo were additional salaries paid only to yogeki officials in addition to the regular monthly salary (getsuryo) and tairo (large salary). However, in 808 (Daido 3), the scope of monthly salary payment was narrowed, and in the reforms of that year and the following year, yogekiryo was changed from sen to a daily payment of 2 sho of rice, and monthly salary, yogekiryo, and banjoryo were paid without overlapping, and it lost its character as an additional salary and became a salary of the same quality as the monthly salary.
