Onijuro - Onijuro

...The scientific name of the genus Washingtonia was given in honor of the first president of the United States, Washington. There are two species in this genus, the most common of which is W. filifera (Lind.ex Andre) H.Wendl., which is found in southern California and western Arizona in North America, with a trunk that is about 15m tall and 30cm in diameter, with a slightly swollen base. The other species, W. robusta H.Wendl., has a thicker trunk than W. filifera, with a less swollen base, and grows to about 27m tall and 50cm in diameter.
