Uno School

After World War II, Marxist economics was revived in Japan's academic and intellectual circles to a greater extent than in other capitalist countries, and it continued and developed the research that had taken place before the war. In particular, the Uno School, consisting of Uno Kozo and his successors, established a three-stage method that systematically divides the entire study of economics into three dimensions: the theory of principles, the theory of the development stages of capitalism, and the analysis of the current situation, and thereby attempted to overcome the limitations of the conflict between the lecture school and the labor-farmer school. For example, it is not sufficient to directly compare Japan's agricultural problems with the theory of principles such as Das Kapital; it is believed that an accurate and realistic analysis can only be made possible by also taking the agricultural problems of Germany in the imperialist stage as a reference point.
