Unuma River

…At the mouth of the west bank of the Kiso River is Nagashima Onsen, which was created by pumping up deep groundwater, and is a popular resort and amusement park for the Nagoya metropolitan area.

In ancient times, it was written as Kisugawa or Kisugawa, and in some places it was also called Hironogawa, Unumagawa, Sakaigawa, or Sunomatagawa. The source of the river, Kiso, is rich in forest resources, and the two provinces of Shinano and Mino fought over its ownership, and in 879 (Gangei 3), it was decided that it belonged to Mino.
