Unazuki [Hot Spring] - Unazuki

...This town developed rapidly after construction began by Japan Electric Power Company at the end of the Taisho era. There are 10 power plants, including the Kurobe River No. 4 Power Plant (Kansai Electric Power Company) in the Kurobe Gorge upstream from Aimoto, and six power plants (Hokuriku Electric Power Company and others) downstream, with a total output of approximately 900,000 kW (1997), making it one of Japan's leading hydroelectric towns.
[Unazuki Onsen]
Unazuki Onsen was opened in 1923 on a terrace 200 meters above sea level at the entrance to the Kurobe Gorge. The hot spring water was drawn about 8 km from the upstream Kuronagi Onsen (96°C), and is a simple spring with a temperature of 60°C. It developed along with the development of power sources on the Kurobe River, and is now the base for sightseeing in the Kurobe Gorge.
