Uji Yataro

…Originally attached to the Konparu troupe, they were employed by the shogunate and other organizations during the Edo period, but are now active mainly in Tokyo, Kyoto, and the Kobe area. The founder of the school was the Tendai Buddhist scholar Gen'ei Hoin from the Nanboku-cho period, and it is said that the art was passed down through Konparu Zenchiku's youngest son, Konparu Shirojiro, and his adopted son Uji Yataro, and then to the 10th head, Okura Yaemon, but this is not certain. The Okura surname comes from the fact that the Okura Dayu family, a branch of the Konparu troupe, became a branch of the Okura Daifu family, and it is thought that the style originated from Uji Sarugaku and became established as a kyogen actor at the Yamato Sarugaku Konparu troupe. …

…もと金春（こんぱる）座付で，江戸時代は幕府などに召し抱えられたが，現在は東京･京阪神を中心に活動している。南北朝時代の天台宗の学僧玄恵法印を流祖とし，その芸系が金春禅竹の末子，金春四郎次郎，その養子の宇治弥太郎らを経て，10世大蔵弥右衛門まで伝えられてきたと伝承するが確かでない。大蔵姓は金春座の庶流大蔵大夫家の分家格となったことによるもので，宇治猿楽より出て大和猿楽金春座の狂言方となって流儀が確立したと考えられる。…
