A type of embroidery. The outline of the design is stitched with a buttonhole stitch or an overcast stitch, and the fabric is later cut out to create an openwork pattern. French embroidery thread is used on linen or cotton fabrics that do not fray easily, and it is used for women's collars and table centers. It developed rapidly in Europe after the 13th century. It was introduced to Japan in the late 19th century. →Related items Embroidery | Dron Work Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
