Japanese: 隠蔽 - いんぺい

In object-oriented programming languages, declaring a field in a subclass with the same name as a field declared in a superclass, or declaring a static method in a subclass with the same name as a static method declared in a superclass (declaring an instance method in a subclass with the same name as an instance method declared in a superclass is called overriding), which limits access to the field or method declared in the superclass.

オブジェクト指向のプログラミング言語において、スーパークラスで宣言されたフィールドと同じ名前のフィールドをサブクラスで宣言すること、またはスーパークラスで宣言されたstaticメソッドと同じ名前のstaticメソッドをサブクラスで宣言すること（スーパークラスで宣言されたインスタンスメソッドと同じ名前のインスタンスメソッドをサブクラスで宣言することは、オーバーライドという）。これによって、スーパークラスで宣言されたフィールドやメソッドへのアクセスが制限される。
