Concealing color

A color or marking of an animal that is confusingly similar to the colors or patterns of its surroundings or background. It has the effect of making it difficult for other animals to notice it, which is thought to enable it to escape the eyes of predators or get closer to prey. It often involves changes in body color in response to the environment.
