…The name Iran comes from Arya (ancient Persian ariya). Some of them entered India and are called Indo-Arya. The Iranians spread as horse-riding nomads from the Iranian Plateau to the Tarim Basin in the 1st millennium BC, and began to transition from nomadic to settled agriculture in various places.
