Iwamuro Flora

...The composition of the Kuruma flora is quite different from that of the Late Triassic flora (Omine and Nariwa floras in Japan), with fewer ferns of the Acanthaceae family and the appearance of new forms of Bennettites, but it is very similar to the composition of the Xiangxi flora of the same period, which was widely distributed along the Yangtze River in mainland China. The Iwamuro flora in northern Gunma Prefecture and the Yamaoku flora in northern Okayama Prefecture are also of the same period and composition. The name Kuruma is the name of Otari Village, Kitaazumi District, Nagano Prefecture, but the distribution of the Kuruma Group spreads widely into Toyama Prefecture, and most of the Kuruma flora is known from the Kuruma Group distributed in the upper reaches of the Ohira River in Asahi Town, Shimoniikawa District, Toyama Prefecture. ...

…来馬植物群は，三畳紀後期の植物群(日本では大嶺･成羽両植物群)とくらべ，ヤブレガサウラボシ科のシダが少なくなり，新しい形のベネチテス類が出現するなど，その組成はかなり異なり，中国大陸の長江(揚子江)沿いに広く分布する同時期の香渓植物群の組成によく似ている。　群馬県北部の岩室植物群，岡山県北部の山奥植物群も同時期，同組成のものである。来馬の名は，長野県北安曇郡小谷村の地名であるが，来馬層群の分布は広く富山県側に広がり，来馬植物群の大部分は，富山県下新川郡朝日町大平川上流地域に分布する来馬層群から知られたものである。…
