…同じころ勅勘をこうむった南薩摩の豪族阿多平四郎が本島へ逃亡し，六波羅から追討使が派遣されたが渡海に失敗した。1186年(文治2)河辺平太道綱が本島へ逃亡し，翌年には義経同意のやからが隠れているという疑いがあったため，源頼朝は宇都宮信房と鎮西九国奉行天野遠景をつかわして本島で合戦し，これを帰順させた(《吾妻鏡》)。島内の記録によれば，壇ノ浦で敗れた平資盛と安徳天皇一行は本島に逃れ，1243年(寛元1)安徳天皇はここで没したと伝え，安徳帝陵，黒木御所，硫黄大権現宮など関係史跡がある。…
