Hill fort - Kyusai

...They were divided into many tribes, but their society was dominated by the nobility, consisting of priests (Druids) who were in charge of religious ceremonies, and warriors who owned vast tracts of land, who exploited the common peasants. Tribal leaders and great nobles built hill forts, surrounded by double or triple banks and ditches, as their bases for war.

In the middle of the 1st century BCE, the Roman general Caesar, who was fighting the Germanic peoples in Gaul (now France), invaded Britain twice, in 55 and 54 BCE, to attack the Britons who were supporting his enemies from the flank, and defeated them.
