Chiharu Imaizumi

Japanese: 今泉千春 - いまいずみちはる

Born: December 17, 1775, Saga
[Died] September 19, 1836. A Tsukushigoto player in the mid-Edo period in Saga. Son of Imaizumi Rokudayu Kamitsuna, a samurai of the Saga domain, Naofumi. Childhood names were Hayashisaburo and Rokuroji. Also known as Yosei, Masuoki, and Itaka. He studied Chinese classics under Ito Zenryu, and opened a private school, which he called Risseido. In Bunka 7 (1810), he became a retainer, and in Bunsei 12, he became a yūhitsu. He learned the Tsukushigoto from Ito Sukeyuki in Bunsei 3, and after retiring from the government in Bunsei 9 (26), he devoted himself to it, taking the name Kinsen. In Tenpo 5 (34), he wrote "Shokyokaku Koto Stories." His son Chiaki also inherited the Tsukushigoto, and taught it to Noda Chōshō, who passed it down to the present day.

江戸時代中期の筑紫箏演奏家。佐賀藩士今泉六太夫上綱の子，尚文。幼名林三郎，六郎次。別名庸清，益興，維鷹。伊東全龍について漢学を学び，私塾を開き，立誠堂と号した。文化7 (1810) 年御側役，同 12年祐筆。筑紫箏の伝は，同3年伊東祐之より受け，文政9 (26) 年退官後これに専心，琴仙と号す。天保5 (34) 年『松響閣箏話』を著わす。その子千秋も筑紫箏を伝承し，野田聴松に伝授，聴松から現代へと伝えられた。
