〘名〙① 官位相当の位色による朝服の袍(ほう)。うえのきぬ。令の規定によれば一位は深紫、二位三位は浅紫、四位は深緋、五位は浅緋、六位は深緑、七位は浅緑、八位は深縹(はなだ)、初位は浅縹。後世、四位以上はひとしく黒色となった。※小右記‐正暦元年(990)八月三〇日「便於摂政直廬清書、左府給位袍、取遣里第」② 天皇が朝儀の際に用いる束帯の、黄櫨染(こうろぜん)の袍。麹塵(きくじん)。※江家次第(1111頃)一「宸儀出御 位袍御靴」[語誌]朝服の袍の色は大宝令の規定が以後の規準となり、平安朝もこの規準が踏襲された。しかし上位の濃い色が好まれて規定を冒す傾向が見られ、「大和物語」によれば、一〇世紀半ばには四位の緋は三位の紫となっていたことが知られる。その後も紫はますます濃くなり、一一世紀初め頃には四位以上は総て黒となったらしい。また五位は蘇芳、六位は縹となり、七位以下の制は廃れた。

くらい‐ぎぬ くらゐ‥【位袍】

〘名〙 官位の高下によって色を規定した袍(ほう)。衣服令によると、一位は深紫、二位三位は浅紫、四位は深緋、五位は浅緋、六位は深緑、七位は浅緑、八位は深縹(はなだ)、初位は浅縹である。くらいのきぬ。位袍(いほう)。※元輔集(990頃)「くらゐきぬたのめそめてし色なればいとど深くもなりぬべきかな」
