Born on November 18, 1859. Son of Inada Tanenori. Succeeding his brother-in-law Tanenobu (his father's cousin), in 1865 he became a chief retainer of the Awa Tokushima Domain and lord of Sumoto Castle in Awaji. He distinguished himself by acting separately from the main domain during the Boshin War. In 1870, he was attacked by retainers of the main domain over the separation and independence of Awaji (the Kogo Incident, or Inada Disturbance). After the incident, he was ordered to emigrate to Shizunai County, Hokkaido with his retainers and engaged in development. He returned home in 1893. He became a baron. He died on May 26, 1931, at the age of 77. He was commonly known as Kurobei. Source: Kodansha Digital Japanese Name Dictionary +Plus Information | Legend |
