The Spartacist League, the predecessor of the German Communist Party, and the organ of the German Communist Party. It means "Red Flag." It was launched as the organ of the Spartacist League, an illegal radical socialist organization that led the revolution on November 9, 1918, the day of the German Revolution. It was led by R. Luxemburg and K. Liebknecht. When the Communist Party was formed in December of the same year, centered around the Spartacist League, it became the party's organ. In line with the party's political policy, it criticized and attacked capitalism, the Weimar system, Nazism, and social democracy.

ドイツ共産党の前身であるスパルタクス団およびドイツ共産党の機関紙。〈赤旗〉の意。1918年11月9日のドイツ革命の日，革命の先頭に立った急進社会主義の非合法組織で，R.ルクセンブルクやK.リープクネヒトらに率いられたスパルタクス団の機関紙として創刊された。同年12月に同団を中心に共産党が結成されると，同党の機関紙となった。党の政治方針にそって，資本主義，ワイマール体制，ナチズム，社会民主主義のすべてを批判，攻撃した。
