Rice-growing culture area

...The term is often used to refer to the cultural characteristics commonly found in the area stretching from eastern India through Southeast Asia and southern China to Japan, particularly the underlying culture. The regional spread of this culture is also sometimes called the rice-growing culture area. Of course, there is no clear definition of rice-growing culture, and there is diversity and differences in the technical level of rice cultivation among the various ethnic groups, and they also combine it with hunting, fishing, and other occupations, so it is not possible to say that all the ethnic groups living in the above-mentioned areas are carriers of a rice-growing culture.
