Imitation leather - Gikaku

An artificially produced imitation of natural leather. They are called artificial leather, synthetic leather, and leather in order of similarity to natural leather, but there is no clear standard. Leather is cloth or paper coated with polyvinyl chloride, synthetic leather is, for example, polyvinyl chloride sponge leather coated with a nylon film, and artificial leather generally refers to nonwoven fabric coated with a polymer film to further resemble the structure of natural leather.

人工的につくられる天然革の類似品．天然革に類似している順に，人工皮革，合成皮革，レザーとよばれているが，はっきりした基準はない．レザーは布または紙に塩化ビニルを塗布したもの，合成皮革はたとえば塩化ビニルスポンジレザーにナイロン膜を塗布したもの，人工皮革はさらに天然革の組織に似せて不織布に高分子膜を塗布したものを一般にさす．
