Ito earthquake swarm

...Although there is no direct relationship to volcanic activity, it is true that large and small earthquake swarms occur along volcanic belts. Examples include the Ito earthquake swarm of 1930, the Matsushiro earthquake swarm that began in 1965, and the Ito earthquake swarm of 1978-79. These earthquake swarms are often accompanied by crustal uplift.
