The world's largest tobacco manufacturer, with over 300 brands. Among its most famous are Kent, Kool, and Lucky Strike. Its headquarters are in London. It was founded in 1902 as British-American Tobacco Co. Ltd., which took over the business of American Tobacco Co., run by James Buchanan Duke (1856-1925), the American tobacco magnate, and British Imperial Tobacco Co. Ltd.
