Japanese: ALCOA - アルコア

A common name for Aluminum Co. of America. The largest aluminum manufacturer in the United States, and one of the two largest aluminum ingot manufacturers in the world along with Alcan Aluminum. Headquartered in Pittsburgh. The company has an integrated production system from mining the raw material bauxite to smelting and manufacturing processed products, and has a 16-17% share of the global market for new aluminum ingots. Its predecessor was the Pittsburgh Reduction Company, an aluminum smelting company founded in 1888 by CM Hall, inventor of the aluminum electrolysis process, and entrepreneur AE Hunt.
