Born on August 4, 1852. Became a reporter for the Jiji Shimpo when it was first published in 1882, and later became its editor. In 1906, he moved to the Bank of Japan, where he served as Director of Publications and Documents. In 1906, he acquired Nippon and became its president. He supervised the magazine Diamond.
