Gastroenterology - Ichouka

…The branch of medicine that treats and studies diseases of the internal organs related to digestion and absorption. It is also called gastroenterology, and this name is still widely used in Europe and the United States today. In Japan, the first specialized hospital was the Gastroenterology Hospital, which opened in Tokyo in 1896, and Natsume Soseki, who suffered from stomach ulcers, was also hospitalized there.
