Sadler's Wells Ballet

…Britain's leading ballet company. This name was given to the Sadler's Wells Ballet and its ballet school by Queen Elizabeth II in October 1956. The company's history began in 1926, when de Valois founded his own dance school in London and, with the cooperation of Berlis, the manager of the Old Vic, had his students appear in the dance scenes of the operas and plays performed at the theater.
