Kabuki actor. First generation. Stage name was Tsuruya, later Takashimaya. Son of the fourth generation Kodanji . Became the head of the Osaka Minamiza Theater. He excelled in manners and finesse, and opened up new possibilities in translations and zangiri pieces.
