Italian Quilting - Italian Quilting

...It is used for a wide range of purposes, from large items such as bed covers to small bags, as it is both warming and decorative. English quilting is when two pieces of fabric are sandwiched with cotton or a batting and stitched together, while Italian quilting is when the outline of a design is sewn with two lines of stitches and wool or other materials are stuffed into the back. American quilting or patchwork quilting is when the front fabric is appliquéd or patchworked, three pieces of fabric are layered with cotton or a batting and the back fabric, and the front design is stitched together.
