...The shape and size are chosen according to the fish to be targeted. The sinkers are mostly made of lead, and come in a variety of shapes, from plate weights that can be torn by hand to adjust the weight, to rod, square, spherical, and eggplant-shaped weights (Figure e). In Japan, the weight of a No. 1 sinker is roughly 3 g.
