Coronary risk factors

Japanese: 冠動脈危険因子

This refers to a predisposition to diseases caused by coronary artery sclerosis. When multiple risk factors are present, the risk increases synergistically. According to Western sources, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, smoking, diabetes, and obesity are the most important and are called the major risk factors. In Japan, hypertension is considered the most important, followed by hyperlipidemia and smoking, but the status of obesity is unclear. Compared to people without these risk factors, the risk of hypertension is 2.6 times higher in men and 6 times higher in women, hypercholesterolemia is 2 to 3 times higher, and smoking 20 or more cigarettes is twice as high.

冠状動脈硬化による疾患にかかりやすい素因のことである。危険因子を重複してもつ場合には相乗的に危険性が高まる。欧米の資料では，高脂質血症･高血圧･喫煙･糖尿病･肥満が最も重要で，主要危険因子と呼ばれる。日本では，高血圧が最も重要と考えられ，次いで高脂質血症･喫煙が重要であるが，肥満については明らかでない。　これらの危険因子はそれのない人と比べて，高血圧は男性で2.6倍，女性で6倍の危険性があり，高コレステロール血症では2～3倍，喫煙20本以上では2倍危険性が高い。
