At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty in China, a fleet of ships transported flower stones to the capital Bianjing (Kaifeng). Prime Minister Cai Jing (蔡京) learned that Emperor Huizong liked rare flowers and strange stones, and sent his close aide Zhu Men to Jiangnan to search for flower stones. In order to do so, the transporters even stole rare flowers and strange stones from ordinary people's homes, and in trying to transport huge stones obtained from Lake Tai in Jiangnan, they destroyed all the water gate bridges of the prefectures and counties they passed through, causing great damage to society at the time as well as the hardships of the transporters. This caused the Fang La Rebellion (1120-21). However, this rebellion led to the suspension of the flower stone project.
