Isobutyl Alcohol

C ₄ H ₁₀ O (74.12). Also known as 2-methyl-1-propanol. One of the aliphatic saturated alcohols. Found in fusel oil. Industrial production methods include fermentation and synthesis with butyl alcohol in the oxo synthesis of propene. Colorless, flammable liquid. Melting point -108 °C, boiling point 107.79 °C. Solubility 0.79806. 1.3939. Explosive range (lower limit) 1.68 vol.%. Easily soluble in ethanol and ether, soluble in water. Used as a raw material for the synthesis of esters for fruit essences, solvent, etc. [CAS 78-83-1]

C₄H₁₀O(74.12)．2-メチル-1-プロパノール(2-methyl-1-propanol)ともいう．脂肪族飽和アルコール類の一つ．フーゼル油中に含まれる．工業的製法には，発酵法と，プロペンのオキソ合成法でブチルアルコールとともに合成する方法とがある．無色，引火性の液体．融点－108 ℃，沸点107.79 ℃．0.79806．1.3939．爆発範囲(下限)1.68体積％．エタノール，エーテルに易溶，水に可溶．果物エッセンス用エステルの合成原料，溶剤などに用いられる．[CAS 78-83-1]
