One of the four heavenly kings of Minamoto no Yoshitsune. He played an active role in the Battle of Yashima and Dannoura, capturing Taira Munemori and his son Kiyomune alive. He accompanied Yoshitsune on his escape to the western provinces after he had fallen out with Minamoto no Yoritomo, but they were separated along the way. He later attacked Sudo Tsunetoshi, the guardian of Ise (Mie Prefecture), but was defeated, and is said to have committed suicide in July of the second year of Bunji. He is said to have been born in Ise or Kozuke (Gunma Prefecture). His nickname was Saburo. His given name was also said to be Norimori.
