Yoshimori Ise

Japanese: 伊勢義盛 - いせよしもり

?-1186 A samurai from the late Heian period.
One of the four heavenly kings of Minamoto no Yoshitsune. He played an active role in the Battle of Yashima and Dannoura, capturing Taira Munemori and his son Kiyomune alive. He accompanied Yoshitsune on his escape to the western provinces after he had fallen out with Minamoto no Yoritomo, but they were separated along the way. He later attacked Sudo Tsunetoshi, the guardian of Ise (Mie Prefecture), but was defeated, and is said to have committed suicide in July of the second year of Bunji. He is said to have been born in Ise or Kozuke (Gunma Prefecture). His nickname was Saburo. His given name was also said to be Norimori.

源義経(よしつね)四天王のひとり。屋島・壇ノ浦の戦いなどで活躍し,平宗盛・清宗父子を生け捕りにする。源頼朝と不和になった義経の西国落ちに随行するが,途中でわかれる。のち伊勢(いせ)(三重県)守護の首藤経俊(すどう-つねとし)を襲撃し敗れ,文治(ぶんじ)2年7月自害したという。出身は伊勢とも上野(こうずけ)(群馬県)ともいわれる。通称は三郎。名は能盛ともかく。
