〘Noun〙 (also "zaikokushu") During the Muromachi period, feudal lords and servants were allowed to stay in their provinces or territories without going to Kyoto for work. In the Kamakura government, the term was used to refer to warriors who did not reside in Kamakura but lived in their territories.
