When the festival is held, the priests and other people directly involved in the festival cut off all ties with the outside world and stay in a specific place and time to be able to welcome the spirits of the deities. A festival in which this is imposed on all parishioners is called "Igo-sai." At Tosa Shrine's Saigo-sai (March 11-13), the priests who are serving in the festival cut off all ties with the outside world and stayed inside the shrine from March 11th. The doors to the Tamagaki fence were also closed, and parishioners were only allowed to worship from outside. The event was also held in low voices and quiet sounds, with loud voices being prohibited....
