...It is said that Emperor Shirakawa moved the Shinkaden Hall from the Imperial Palace in 1081 (Eiho 1) for a memorial service, but the style indicates that it was built in the mid-Kamakura period, as the axis is strengthened with a nuki (rail) instead of a nageshi (rail). The worship hall of Izumo Takeo Shrine, a subsidiary shrine, was originally the guardian worship hall of Uchiyama Eikyuji Temple, but was moved to its current location in 1914. It is a split worship hall with a hiwadabuki roof and a karahafu (gabled roof) structure with a five-bay rafter and one-bay beam, with a central bay as an aisle above, and was rebuilt to its current appearance in 1300 (Shoan 2). ...
