A mountain in western Ehime Prefecture. Its peak is on the border between Ozu City and Yawatahama City. It is 812 meters above sea level. At the peak is Kinzan Shusseki-ji Temple, a special head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism. The mountainous area is made up of the Sanbagawa metamorphic rock formations that are widely distributed south of the Median Tectonic Line, and copper has been produced on the northwestern slope of Mount Izushi since ancient times, so it was also called Kinzan. It is included in the Setonaikai National Park and is a prefecturally designated Place of Scenic Beauty. The trailheads are Iyo-Izushi Station and Yawatahama Station on the JR Yosan Line, and there are also bus services available. From the peak, there is a wonderful view of the Ozu Basin and Nagahama area.
