An event where haute couture and ready-to-wear designers present their new works to customers, retail buyers, and the press ahead of the season. It is also known as a fashion show. In Paris, haute couture is held in January and July, and ready-to-wear in March and October. It is held in Milan, London, New York, Madrid, Seoul, and other cities, and has also been held in Tokyo every April and November since 1985. オートクチュールやプレタポルテのデザイナーが，顧客や小売店のバイヤー，ジャーナリズムに対して，シーズンに先駆け新しい作品を発表する催し。いわゆるファッション・ショーのこと。パリではオートクチュールが１月と７月，プレタポルテが３月と10月に行われる。ミラノ，ロンドン，ニューヨーク，マドリード，ソウルほかで行われ，東京でも1985年以来毎年４月と11月に開催されている。
