Izushi Domain Rebellion

…The Shinano Matsumoto Domain (Tada Kasuke Uprising) in 1686 (Jokyo 3) was the first domain-wide strong petition, and the mobilized rebels destroyed powerful merchants in the Matsumoto castle town. The Tajima Izushi Domain Uprising in 1696 (Genroku 9) destroyed wealthy merchants in the castle town who had colluded with the domain's power, and was notable for the large number of houses destroyed and the thoroughness with which it was carried out. Along with the Kasuke Uprising, it can be said to be a landmark as an early example of destruction. …
